Background:

Angela has a Master’s in Nursing Degree Specializing in Psychiatry. She is a graduate of the University of Florida and has over 5 years of clinical experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and 8 years as a Registered Nurse. Angela also has experience as a sub-investigator in clinical trials and research.

As a Nurse Practitioner, Angela can provide a full range of Mental Health and Substance Abuse services:

• Psychiatric evaluations
• Order relevant diagnostic tests
• Make diagnoses of Psychiatric disorders
• Differentiate between psychiatric and medical conditions
• Differentiate between exacerbation of a chronic condition verses an onset of a new
   medical or psychiatric disorder

• Evaluate the health impact of multiple life stressors
• Evaluate potential abuse, neglect and risk of danger to self and others and assist
   patients and their families in securing the least restrictive environment to ensure safety
• Provide treatment for chronic and acute psychiatric disorders
• Provide treatment to a variety of ages: 10 and up
• Provide and collaborate care in the prenatal and postnatal periods
• Make treatment plans that minimize the development of complications and promote
   function and quality of life

• Prescribe medications based on individual characteristics, such as, age, culture, religious
   beliefs and physical conditions
• Prescribe non-medication therapies in conjunction with or replacement of medications
• Make appropriate referrals to other health care providers
• Educate patients and their families of potential of intended effect and possible side
   effects of treatment
• Collaborate with other professionals, including psychiatrists, pharmacists, therapists
   and medical doctors

Bio:

Angela provides care to various ages, backgrounds and mental health diagnoses. She is proficient in the treatment of Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Major Depression, Anxiety Disorders (i.e. Panic Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Social Anxiety), Bipolar Disorder, Substance Abuse Disorder and Schizophrenia. Her specialty is Adult Attention Deficit Disorder and Substance Abuse treatment for alcohol, cocaine and narcotic dependence. If the patient consents, Angela attempts to include family in the treatment plan as much as possible. She enjoys meeting new people as well as caring for patients over time. She is honored to be a part of their growth, healing, crisis’s and pivotal life changing events. She incorporates herbal/nutritional supplements, life-style changes, spirituality and interpersonal techniques into the treatment plan.
